GARRITY, Dorothy Jean Amelia
(nee Wartman)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Dorothy Jean Amelia Garrity, in her 91st year, at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday June 5, 2010 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her late husband, Thomas Garrity, sisters, Mildred Britt (Carleton) and Velma Darling (Clifford), brothers, George (June) and Sherman. She is survived by her beloved brother, Elwin Wartman (Irene) and sister-in-law, Millie Wartman. Loving mother and confidant to Paul (Joan), George (Heather), Marlene (Don Montgomery) and Cheryl (Russ Phin). Dear "Grandma " and "Nan" to nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. She remained very close to her niece, Eileen and husband Ross Stone. Family meant everything to Mom and everyone was always welcome. She was a fabulous cook who could put a feast on the table at a moments notice. She loved fishing, bowling, gardening and liked nothing better than a boisterous game of cards. In keeping with Mom's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will be followed by a private family graveside service at Cataraqui Cemetery, at a later date. Many thanks to the staff of Davies 4 who treated Mom with great care, respect and kindness, with a special thank you to Mom's nurse on Saturday, Liz, for showing the family such compassion and certainly made our last day with Mom easier. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice and will be appreciated by Mrs. Garrity's family.

Your Mom was a wonderful lady! She always welcomed me into her home and she was always willing to allow me to join the card games despite my novice status.
I know that I have fond memories of your Mom, and I know that all of you will have many wonderful memories of happier times you shared with her.
(She also made the best "Buns" I have ever tasted!)
My sincere sympathy,
Andrea Giffen.
